Disney.. Star Wars Style..

Okay.. Here’s that post I know you all have been patiently waiting for. I’ve been playing around too much, but here it is..

We left 061110, early in the morning. Wifey’s father drove us to the airport and we did the check in dance.  Have I said how much I despise airports?

The flight in was not too bad.  I took a Mensa test and scored 4 out of 8 right.  On 1 hour of sleep the night before.  I guess that’s not too bad.  It was enough to keep my mind off of the turbulence.  Have I said how much I hate flying? 

After getting checked in at the Pop Century resort, we shopped, napped and then made our way to to Hollywood Studios.  This is where the Star Wars extravaganza would take place. My mouth would have been watering if this was food. Instead, I sweated with excitement.

We immediately went to get fast passes for Toy Story Mania.  The line was limited and I caught a glimpse of this wonder while on the way.

I snapped a quick photo and then found out the line was going to be entirely too long. Have I said I only got an hour of sleep?

In continuing our exploration we came across two stormtroopers and a third in the middle that seemed to be missing something. Oh yeah.. HIS HEAD!  Time for me to step in and help out.

I guess he’s a little too big, or my head’s too small. I’ll leave that up to you to decide.

One duo that we’ve missed photo opportunities with the last 2 times we were there stood empty because of the Star Wars mania.  We quickly took the chance and grabbed a snapshot with some nice wheels.

Several more interesting things that we passed by but I was already starting to fade. One hour of sleep was just not enough for me.  There would be plenty of time the next few days, but the next shot I thought had to be done at night, and we weren’t sure if we would be back during the nocturnal hours.

I would never have visited Tatooine based on what I’ve seen in the movies, but it would make for a suitable prison of galactic garbage. More importantly, I figured it would make for a good avatar!

We returned to the resort, exhausted.  I don’t remember the last time I had slept so hard.  The beds were good enough and I was tired enough that the sleep recharged me for a fun next day.

We went to 1900 Park Faire at Grand Floridian Hotel for breakfast buffet. Character meal. PHOTO OP!

We got our fill of the buffet, mostly protein and some orange juice, and exited out into the world of Disney for more fun. While calmly exploring Main street we were approached by one of the many photographers there and had him also snap this shot of us at one of the most popular places in the the entire park.

We are proudly wearing our Happy Anniversary buttons that almost every employee wished us when they saw it. Hopefully because it was a true wish and not a company directive.

The photographer that took that first photo asked if I was her brother! We laughed and said no.  He said he wanted us to kiss in the next photo.

While we were in one of the stores, we noticed that someone was watching us!

A visit to the Haunted Mansion ride revealed these characters. The ride stopped for a bit and we captured proof of the world beyond!

David Burns in there somewhere? Wait, He’s still alive..

Part II will have to wait until next weekend…
